I see that India is facing with one and only ONE major challenge: Too low productivity per employee. Wages has gone up 100% over the last years BUT the output of the employees stay at the same low levels. I base my opinion on 7 years of work with Indians in India with my own organization as well as with client dittos.
For example; after very hard work we have internally been able to increase our productivity to western 90’s levels.
