it's not just call centre jobs that are being offshored they are just the most visible aspect of this phenomenon

development jobs are also being offshored, the idea originally was "oh we'll keep the analysis and specification part here and farm out the coding as thats relatively mechanical isn't it" but even the analysis and specification are being offshored now

this has been going on for a long time, I can remember development projects being sent abroad from fifteen years ago, they were controlled locally but now even that aspect has offshored

if this keeps up we won't have an IT industry in this country as the only people working in IT will be non technically literate managers
