What a poor article. More and more people are becoming concerned about offshoring so you proceed to tell us that its good for us, ask for more money for education and then tell us that we will be overtaken by the competition soon no matter what we do. If we hadn't chased the pennies but had maintained ownership of the capability to innovate and deliver in the IT services industry then we wouldnt' be in this situation. You don't see Apple giving away the secrets to the iPod to cut production costs do you? Why did we ensure that the skills went overseas? Why did we give away our competitive edge? Why did we sell our kids down the river? For a few quid off our insurance bills? Give me a break. It's not consumers that drove the offshoring boom, it was short-sighted CEO's and weak IT Directors.
