Phil Codling's comments could possibly prove to be self-fulfilling prophesy. On the one hand he seems to be saying: "Ok gents lets stab our knowledge workers in the back - after all, we've already lost the battle" he then goes onto predict the resulting lack of intelligent, motivated IT people to keep our businesses at the forefront of technology. Duh! If you don't use em, you loose em. Perhaps it's time for the industry and government to take a long-term view of competiveness. Where are all the giant killers?
