What a wonderful idea - having X-rays looked at by someone overseas. So there is no absoluted assuredness that the person doing the examination is the correct person - the qualified person.
What happens when there is a mistake, it's no use saying there won't be, because there will, it happens regularly enough here now.
How will those people examining the x-rays be held accountable, moreover how will it be determined that they are capable. Docs in the UK have to be registered with the GMC (I think) overseas - no such requirement.
Sounds to me like an excellent way to do patients a misservice, with no accountability and no come back. The only people who loose are the patients. At least with 'choice' the patients will be able to go to places where X-rays are examined by real people in this country who are accountable - those who outsource could well be putting the first nail into their own coffin
