Since the beginning of the year, I have become convinced that we are just at the start of an explosion of activity in the outsourcing and offshoring markets; and that this will benefit "home" economies as much as the "foreign".

Outsourcing is changing - it is drilling down into organisations to a much greater extent than previously and smaller (higher-value) deals are the consequence. The use of consultants and advisors have made offshoring a subject that is on the agenda of board meetings from SMEs to Fortune 500s.

The secret I believe, is to communicate effectively what the offshoring supplier can do to increase the value of the business leader's company, measure the deal in a way that is transparent and quickly demonstrate provable results which will bring any Luddites into the fold.

There are currently several Indian companies that are positioning themselves with partnerships and joint ventures to do this. This will benefit them, their partners, their clients and the economy as a whole.
