Under the deal IT from three data centres in Europe and the US will be transferred to a secure Capgemini centre in Bristol, with user and technical support based at Capgemini service centres in Katowice, Poland and Mumbai in India, with back-up support from Rotherham.
About 20 IT staff from SHL will transfer to Capgemini.
Capgemini will deploy its own implementation of virtual server technology, known as service-orientated infrastructure delivery, to give SHL improved availability and service, better control, greater flexibility and reduced costs.
Andy Ross, chief information and technology officer at SHL, said the deal will "help us meet the challenging targets we have for growth, service and cost effectiveness".
Ross said it will also give SHL the flexibility it needs at a time of "significant change" and maintain the high service levels its customers expect.
