Oil giant strikes $53m global IT deal

BHP Billiton Petroleum has signed a five-year, $53m IT services deal with CSC.

The outsourcer will manage global IT operations for the oil giant, overseeing the provision of helpdesk, desktops, networks, high performance computing, telecoms services and applications management.

BHP Billiton Petroleum CIO Zhanna Golodryga said the deal will provide scalable services to the company and enhance IT provision for its staff.

BHP Billiton employs approximately 39,000 people in 25 countries across the world, including the UK, and is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia.

CSC has provided IT support services to various organisations within BHP Billiton for the past eight years.
