Industry needed a kitemark, says NOA...

The National Outsourcing Association (NOA) has launched the UK's first academically accredited qualifications and training programmes, covering both the supply and use of outsourcing.
The three qualification programmes - which take the form of work-based learning and workshops - range from an entry-level foundation course up to a Masters level diploma: the NOA Professional Certificate; the NOA Advanced Professional Certificate; and the NOA Diploma in strategic global outsourcing.
The qualifications, which are accredited by Middlesex University, will be delivered by a newly created professional development arm of the Association called NOA Pathways.
The NOA said the qualifications have been designed for people whose organisations outsource to third parties or provide outsourcing services or support.
Various training programmes - covering all aspects of the outsourcing lifecycle - are also being launched.
Martyn Hart, chairman of the NOA, said in a statement: "Until now, there has been no common best practice standard or benchmark for outsourcing and there is no way of recognising whether staff involved know their subject or not... By offering accredited professional development in outsourcing, NOA Pathway is establishing a recognisable kitemark for quality in the outsourcing industry."
