Scottish investment boutique signs £2m Digica deal

A Scottish fund manager has signed a £2m deal with outsourcing firm Digica to provide IT infrastructure and SQL database managed services.

Under the five-year deal, Digica will support Martin Currie Investment Management's 30 Intel-based servers, which will be housed at a data centre in Leeds.

The outsourcer will also provide back-up and recovery services from a Nottingham data centre.

Steve Crichton, IT director for Martin Currie, was unavailable for comment but in a statement he said: "By outsourcing, we can improve our service and reduce risk. Over the period of contract discussions, we have been impressed by all the Digica people we have worked with."

Martin Currie manages funds of up to £8.4bn and is attempting to expand. Because of this, Digica said it had built the network to be extended in the future.

In May, Dairy Crest announced it had outsourced applications support to Digica in a three-year, £2.5m deal.
